Woman killed in St. Louis was out on bail facing murder, arson charges

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing another woman in St. Louis who was facing a first-degree murder charge.

Consandra Perry, 50, has been charged with first-degree murder ing the fatal shooting of Tatyana Smiley, 28. Police say Smiley was found shot to death inside her home in the 1400 block of Semple Street in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood on Tuesday morning.

Smiley was out on bail and awaiting trial for the fatal shooting of 72-year-old Charles Watkins in St. Louis on June 28, 2020. She allegedly killed him then set fire to him home using gasoline. She's charged with first-degree murder, arson and armed criminal action.

Police are not saying how or if Perry knew Smiley, or if the killing is connected to Watkins' death.

According to TV news reports, firefighters responded to a fire on Tuesday night in the home where Smiley's body was found earlier that day.
