ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Women of Achievement announced 2024 Women of Achievement honorees Wednesday, a selection of 10 outstanding volunteers women from across the St. Louis region.

The St. Louis Women of Achievement Award was founded in 1955 and is the oldest, ongoing program in the area whose sole mission is to honor and recognize the volunteer service and volunteer leadership of women.

Here is a list of the 10 honorees the group will honor:

Dana Adams — Civic Responsibility

Kimberly Beck — Community Welfare

Linda Estell — Volunteer Leadership

Eleanor Higgins — Youth Enrichment

Ali Hogan — Women’s Empowerment

Melissa A. Jaco — Juvenile Justice

Billie Kramme — Humanitarian Concerns

Melinda Ligon, D.O. — Cultural Enrichment

Phyllis Markus — Multicultural Advocacy

For the past 68 years, Women of Achievement selects 10 honorees from an extensive process beginning with nominations submitted by the public, with each honoree being volunteers who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the betterment of the St. Louis region through uncompensated voluntary contributions, volunteer leadership and a significant breadth of a volunteer career.

“We look forward to shining a spotlight on these ten women – women who have committed themselves to volunteer work that makes our community better,” said Women of Achievement Luncheon Chair Peggy Holly. “The impact of their efforts is not just to the organizations and individuals they serve, but the entire region. Our May luncheon is truly a celebration to recognize the achievements of these Honorees and the causes they care so deeply about.”

The Class of 2024 honorees will be recognized at the 2024 Women of Achievement Award Luncheon on Tuesday, May 14 at the Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis. Former KMOX host and award-winning St. Louis veteran journalist Carol Daniel will serve at the luncheon emcee.

Women of Achievement honorees are selected from nominations from the St. Louis metropolitan region, including Metro East Illinois. Women of Achievement considers nominees with significant volunteer impact in areas such as, but not limited to, education, arts, health and human services, youth and family, philanthropy, social justice and advocacy.

Doors open at 11:15 a.m., with the luncheon ending at 1:30 p.m. with luncheon reservations set at $60 per person and can be made online beginning in March 2024 on the event's website or by contacting Women of Achievement at 314-896-4962 or their email at woastlouis@gmail.com.
