ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - The Muny says comments on Facebook have ceased to serve the mission of connecting the community. The theatre tells its Facebook followers it will no longer allow them to comment on its posts.
The Muny explains the social media platform has "become a space where users degrade or aggressively engage with each other" instead of providing meaningful dialogue.
The organization didn't elaborate on what specifically sparked the policy. However a Muny post over the weekend strongly encouraging patrons to wear masks under new regional COVID guidelines drew dozens of comments, with some people debating vaccines and others calling people "sheep".
