ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Emerson College released polling Friday regarding both the Missouri Senators race for incumbent Josh Hawley's seat and the race for the Republican nominee in Missouri Governor's race, with both polls being vastly different.

In the Missouri Senator race for Hawley's seat, Hawley, a Republican, has a solid gap over Democrat Lucas Kuntz, with Hawley holding a nine-point lead over Kuntz, with Hawley seeing 47% support compared to Kuntz's 38% support.

Meanwhile in the Missouri Governor's race, specifically when it comes to the Republican nominee, there seems to be no real frontrunner in the GOP primary, with only 23% of voters supporting Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, and 20% supporting Lieutenant Gov. Mike Kehoe in the August Republican Primary for Governor. The most glaring number is that a whopping 46% are undecided.

Kehoe has seen some solid support from older Republicans, seeing 26% of voters over 60 years old supporting him, while Ashcroft has fared better those in the 30-50 demographic, with 31% of them supporting Ashcroft.

Fox 2 reporter Andy Banker joined John Hancock and Michael Kelley on "Hancock and Kelley" Friday to discuss the poll numbers and the governor's race.

"I don't think a whole lot of people know who these guys are yet," said Banker looking at the 46% undecided voters number. "It looks like a two-way race (between Ashcroft and Kehoe) and Bill Eigel is not a factor at 6%."

Despite the tight race in the GOP Primary, the numbers are clearly showing that Missouri is a solid-red state now more than ever from Banker's perspective.

"As a senior polling director for Emerson, (Missouri) is not a good state for Joe Biden and I think that's putting it lightly," said Banker. "His approval rating in 38% in the state, which is worst than the national numbers."
