1 year-old shoots sibling, mother in Walmart parking lot

Police in Granbury, Texas, are saying a one-year-old child accidentally fired a weapon and shot his sibling and mother outside a Walmart parking lot.

The incident happened around 11:25 a.m. Wednesday morning outside a Walmart in Granbury, police told WFAA.

According to witnesses, the mother and father of the child were standing outside their truck around 11:25 a.m. when the toddler got a hold of a weapon concealed between the seat and center console and fired it once.

The bullet went through the leg of the toddler's three-month-old sibling and then hit his mother through the arm and chest. It is reported the injury to the infant was non life-threatening and he was taken to a local hospital in an ambulance.

The 23-year-old mother was transported via air to a hospital in Fort Worth with a more serious injury.

No other information has been released at this time.
