Biden has a massive 23-point lead over Trump with this key demographic

A recently released poll has found that President Joe Biden is demolishing former President Donald Trump with one key demographic, leading his Republican adversary by more than 20 percentage points.

The poll from CBS News/YouGov found that among voters under the age of 30, 61% plan on voting for Biden this upcoming November, while only 38% say they plan on voting for Trump.

The poll found that for America’s youngest voters, Biden’s policies more closely aligned with what they viewed as the nation’s top issues.

Respondents listed abortion (57%), climate change (54%), and race and diversity (52%) as the top issues that would influence who they cast a ballot for in five months.

When comparing the responses from younger voters to their above 30 counterparts, only around 50% said abortion was a major issue, along with 37% saying climate change and 36% saying race and diversity.

The poll also found that those aged 18 to 29 were not unimpressed with how Biden has handled his first term as president, with 72% approving of the job he is doing and 28% disapproving.

However, this could be a case of the worst of two evils, as the poll found that almost half of voters under 30 felt neither Trump nor Biden understood the needs and concerns of younger Americans.

Overall, only 20% said that Trump does, and 26% said Biden does.

While Trump may have ground to make up amongst young people, he might not have to worry too much, as the demographic doesn’t seem to be set on making their voices heard this November.

The poll noted that only 66% of those under 30 plan on voting in 2024, compared to those 65 and older, that number was 94%.

The poll included responses from 2,460 US adults and was conducted from June 17-21. There is a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.
