Commentator Bill Maher is losing faith in President Joe Biden as he shared in the latest episode of his podcast that he still thinks Biden will lose in November to former President Donald Trump despite his legal woes.
The remarks from Maher came while he spoke with tech journalist Kara Swisher, telling her that he thinks Trump is more likely to get support for a second term compared to Biden.
“I would vote for [Biden’s] head in a jar of blue liquid over Donald Trump, but that doesn’t mean that I’m — first of all, I think it’s a moot point at this point. He’s going to f‑‑‑ing lose,” Maher said.
Maher said that too many Democrats are ignoring concerns over Biden’s physical and mental well-being at 81 years old.
However, Swisher pushed back on what could be considered Maher’s most outspoken criticism of Biden thus far. She said that a “silent majority” of Americans would come out for Biden in the end.
“We don’t want chaos again,” she said.
Still, Maher said that the same “silent majority” could show up for Trump instead.
“Do I think that’s absolutely possible, what you described? Yes. Or it could not be, and I can’t tell the difference,” Maher said.
“The shy Trump voter is the one who is going to vote for Trump but doesn’t want you to know it because it’s a little déclassé,” he said.
As polls currently sit, Trump is leading Biden by one point in an average of national polls down by The Hill/Decision Desk HQ.
However, the polls were taken before Trump’s felony conviction last week, which could boost or hurt his chances depending on how Americans take it.
