It’s Friday afternoon. You’re looking forward to the weekend as you knock off work. On the way home, you stop off to fill up your car’s tank, and while you’re there, you grab some cold beer and some good kush to get the relaxation underway.

This scenario will soon be a reality for some in Florida where the convenience store/gas station franchise Circle K is planning to start offering marijuana for sale.

To that end, the Canadian company is partnering with Green Thumb Industries, Inc. out of Chicago. Green Thumb will erect its RISE Express dispensaries next to 10 of the 600 Circle K locations in the Sunshine State.

RISE Express sells smokable cannabis flower, pre-rolled joints, vapes and gummies, according to a news release.

The catch? The sales will only be available to customers who can provide a medical marijuana card.

Florida allows medical marijuana to be prescribed to patients who suffer from PTSD, cancer and Parkinson’s disease, among other conditions, according to Axios. Still, the development is seen as a tremendously positive one to the executives at Green Thumb.

"The opening of RISE Express stores at Circle K locations is a game-changer. Convenience is a strong channel in retail, and people want more access to cannabis," Green Thumb CEO Ben Kovler, said in the release.

There are over 700,000 Floridians currently in possession of an active medical marijuana card, according to the Florida Department of Health.
