College students at a private liberal arts college in Utah could possibly "watch pornographic films together" as part of a new class focusing solely on porn.
The class, "Film 300O Porn," being taught at Westminster College, is being offered during the 2022-2023 academic year.
The class description on Westminster's course catalog says that "hardcore pornography" is more popular than "Sunday night football."
The course description continues this sentiment when describing the class teaching about what it calls a billion-dollar industry.
"Our approach to this billion-dollar industry is as both a cultural phenomenon that reflects and reinforces sexual inequalities (but holds the potential to challenge sexual and gender norms) and as an art form that requires serious contemplation," the description reads.
The description goes on to say that students will watch pornographic films while discussing the sexualization of gender, class, and race and how it is "an experimental, radical art form."
Westminster shared in a statement to Fox News that it is often for the school to offer electives like this so students can learn to "analyze social issues."
"As part of this analysis, Westminster College and universities across the county often examine potentially offensive topics like pornography to further understand their pervasiveness and impact. Descriptions of these courses, while alarming to some readers, help students decide if they wish to engage in serious investigation of controversial subjects," a spokesperson for the college told Fox News. "This course will help students learn how to think critically about the influence of digital media culture."
