Former CNN pundit Don Lemon recently shared more on his political allegiances, saying he doesn’t consider himself a Democrat but would be voting for Vice President Harris this fall.

Lemon shared his thoughts during an appearance on NewsNation’s “Dan Abrams Live” on Wednesday, saying that he views himself more as an independent voter.

“I’m not a Democrat,” he said. “Not a Democrat. Not a Republican. I’m an independent.… Some political leanings that are conservative and some that are liberal, like most people.”

When it was suggested that Lemon was just “not a Donald Trump fan,” he responded by saying he’s “a fan of the truth.”

“I think Donald Trump lies a lot, just like he is — you know, he has been saying now that Democrats are responsible for language that’s inciting violence when he has called for the joint chiefs to be executed, when he says Liz Cheney should face a military tribunal when he says Hillary Clinton would be best handled by a Second Amendment person,” Lemon said.

When asked if he would be voting for Harris this fall, Lemon said that he supports democracy and because “Kamala Harris is on the side of democracy,” he would vote for her.

“Am I particularly a fan of hers just because she’s a Democrat? No, but the only two people in this race who have a chance of winning are Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, and so I am on the side of democracy,” Lemon continued. “I support the person who believes in democracy, which is Kamala Harris.”

After being fired by CNN in 2023, Lemon has since launched a social media content creation channel where he offers his thoughts and commentary on current events.
