A private plane carrying former President Donald Trump was forced to land in New Orleans Saturday night due to engine failure, according to a report in Politico.

Trump had spoken that evening at a donor retreat hosted by the Republican National Committee. The plane was reportedly grounded after 20-30 minutes of flight time, forced to turn around and land in New Orleans after one of the engines failed.

The plane was bound for Palm Beach, Fla., when it was forced to return to the Crescent City.

Politico reported on a conversation between the pilot and air traffic control that called the landing “emergency in nature,” though it was apparently disputed by a separate source whether the word “emergency” was actually uttered.

The former Commander-in-Chief would later board a different plane procured by the RNC. He landed around 3 a.m. Sunday in Palm Beach, where he was set to return to his estate at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump’s speech before the RNC donors prior to his travel difficulties was often profane as he reportedly spoke for about 90 minutes at the Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans. Recordings of the speech reveal that he said the U.S. should “bomb the sh-t out of Russia” using planes emblazoned with the flag of China.

Trump also had a variety of colorful nicknames at the ready for his detractors and said he was “very, very strongly” considering running for the Presidency again in 2024.
