Here’s where Trump’s second inauguration will be ahead of Monday’s freezing temps

President-elect Donald Trump is expected to be sworn into office for his second term on Monday, though it won’t look like your typical inauguration thanks to temperatures moving celebrations indoors.

While in years past, presidents have been sworn in on the balcony of the US Capitol building, this year, the event will be held inside the Capitol Rotunda due to the bitter cold.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that temperatures in Washington, DC, will reach a high of 24 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds reaching up to 15 mph.

The decision was made at the last minute and has upended plans for thousands of ticket holders who were looking to see Trump swear his oaths for a second time live.

In total, the rotunda can accommodate roughly 2,000 people, and most of those spots are expected to go to government officials, Trump’s family, donors, and members of Congress.

The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies shared that the “vast majority” of ticket holders will not be able to attend the ceremony in person, instead suggesting that they watch the event at other venues.

Trump shared on Friday that Capital One Arena, which can house 20,000, will host viewings of the ceremony for those who planned to attend but are being left out.

“These tickets are now commemorative. Capital One Arena will be first come, first serve, but there is no way that all ticket holders will be able to get in there. I know President Trump is disappointed, but you can bet when the weather breaks, we will have some great rallies,” New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R) told The New York Post.

Trump hosted a Saturday night reception and fireworks display at his Virginia golf course to celebrate his second term. On Sunday, he is expected to host a rally at Capital One Arena, with performances by Billy Ray Cyrus, The Village People, and Kid Rock.
