A new report has found that the Harris-Walz ticket is on track to be the least interviewed and media-present presidential pairing of any major party in modern US history.

The report from Axios highlights the lack of live interviews and press conferences that Vice President Harris and Minnesota Gov. Walz have had within the first two months of her campaign.

According to the report, since Harris announced her campaign 60 days ago, her opponents, former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), have participated in more than 70 press conferences and interviews with TV and print reporters.

Compared to the Democratic ticket, Harris and Walz have taken part in just seven press conferences or interviews.

The report highlights just how few this figure is, as Vance himself has participated in more than 7 times the amount they have combined.

The analysis shared that Harris has only done one local TV interview, national print publication interview, and national TV interview since starting her campaign. Walz has done three local TV interviews and one national TV interview in the 45 days he’s been Harris’s VP.

The report did not count partisan station interviews, podcasts, or radio appearances by any of the candidates.

Sources close to the campaign shared with Axios that Harris’ team believes limiting press interactions is the right move for her campaign, despite the frustrations it has caused many as voters continue to try to find out more about the Democratic nominee.

Harris’s campaign has commented on the lack of interviews, saying that Harris and Walz have been interviewed by a range of media outlets.

“In each of these settings, they answer questions, often tough ones, about the important issues facing Americans in this election and share their views and vision,” the statement said.
