Another Trump child will testify in New York today, as Ivanka Trump is set to take the stand in the $250 million fraud case against her dad and brothers.
The former first daughter attempted to avoid the stand but will now face a round of questioning from New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Donald Jr. and Eric Trump testified in the fraud case last week, and the former president himself on Monday.
Ivanka, 41, is expected to be on the stand facing questions from James from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST. Cross-examination from Trump’s team could last through Thursday morning, according to the New York Post.
Ivanka was previously named as a defendant in the case but was dismissed in June by an appeals court which found the allegations against her fell outside the statute of limitations. Trump’s daughter has not lived in New York nor worked there since 2017.
Despite her not being named in the case, AG lawyer Kevin Wallace argued that Ivanka was “very much still involved” in the Trump organization despite not being an executive since 2017.
“Ms. Trump has clearly availed herself of the privilege of doing business in New York,” New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron said after denying her request to avoid the stand.
Ivanka is the last witness that the New York Attorney General’s office will call, and once her testimony is concluded, Trump’s side will start its case.
Trump’s legal team said on Monday that they plan on calling Don Jr. and Eric Trump back to the stand, being that the two sons were not cross-examined.
