Former President Jimmy Carter is expected to attend the Tuesday memorial service for his late wife, Rosalynn Carter, in Atlanta, according to his grandson.
Jason Carter shared the news with CNN, noting that the former president, who recently turned 99, will travel to Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church on Emory University’s Campus.
President Carter won’t be the only former White House resident present at the service, as first lady Jill Biden will be joined by the remaining former first ladies, including Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, and Melania Trump.
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, second gentlemen Doug Emhoff, and former President Bill Clinton are also expected to be present at the celebration of life.
Former President Donald Trump is not expected to attend the service, though his wife is, in a rare public appearance for the former first lady who has avoided the public eye since the couple left the White House.
Rosalynn Carter died peacefully at her Plains, Georgia, home on Nov. 19 at the age of 96, just two days after it was announced she was entering hospice care. Her husband has been receiving home hospice care since February.
After Tuesday’s service, a private funeral service for family and invited friends is scheduled to take place on Wednesday morning, according to the Carter Center.
