Emergency responders in Florida rescued a small kitten after it wedged its head into a steel pipe last week on a beach, according to officials.
The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society shared the rescue on Facebook, noting that rescuers worked to save the cat along with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.
The kitten was at Fort Walton Beach when the authorities were called to assist in saving its life. According to the society, after they were unsuccessful in freeing the creature, the fire department was called, and they were quick to respond.
"When all our options seemed to be exhausted, we decided to call in reinforcements," the post said. "Our friends at the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department were there to help immediately! With a group effort, we were able to get this sweet baby out and safe. Thank you to all who helped us save this kittens life!"
Rescuers have named the cat Pipe Cleaner, and the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society took it in and placed it up for adoption.
