A Milwaukee woman was murdered by two men after she allegedly told one of their wives she was having an affair with the man, according to the victim's family.

According to police, Sultan Shareef and Johnny Hopgood have been charged in relation to the death of 20-year-old Jania Brunson.

Brunson's mother, Jennifer Meadows, shared with CBS 58 that the murder was more than just a random act of violence.

According to Meadows, Shareef allegedly had called her weeks before her daughter died, saying that he did not want anything to do with Brunson anymore but that she kept trying to contact his wife and tell her of the affair.

The night of the murder, Shareef allegedly met up with Brunson to talk and allegedly killed her, leaving her body bound together and with gunshot wounds. She was set on fire.

Shareef faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide and mauling a corpse, and Hopgood has been charged with mutilating a corpse and harboring or aiding a felon.

Brunson's remains were discovered on Sept. 24 in Milwaukee after she was with Shareef, according to a criminal complaint.

Police believe that Shareef is responsible for killing Brunson and that Hopgood joined him later to dispose of her body.

The two men are currently being held on bond and are scheduled to return to court later this week.
