Man jailed for beating brother after he discovered him having sex with his wife in backseat with mom in the front seat

An Australian man has been sentenced to three years in prison after he beat his brother with a shovel for having sex with his wife in the back of a car while his mother was sitting in the front seat.

According to a report from the Australian outlet The Advocate, 41-year-old David McCulloch pleaded guilty last week to the violent attack after catching the pair in the attack in Tasmania in March.

McCulloch had reportedly tracked his spouse, Jacinta King after she let several of his calls go to voicemail, the Burnie Supreme Court heard at the sentencing.

After locating her cell phone, McCulloch found his wife and brother, Jamie McCulloch, in the back of the vehicle in a parking lot close to his brother’s apartment.

While they were engaging in intercourse, McCulloch also found his mother sitting in the driver’s seat, the Advocate reported.

Upset by his discovery, McCulloch began beating his brother repeatedly before also striking his wife, hitting her in the head. After dealing blows to both of them, he grabbed a shovel from his far and started hitting them with it while yelling, “kill them all.”

It was shared during the hearing that he hit them with the shovel so hard that it eventually broke in two.

Both McCulloch’s wife, who he was married to for six years and shares four children with, and his brother were hospitalized with minor injuries from the attack.

The judge acknowledged during the sentencing that the discovery “must have been upsetting,” calling it a “breach of trust” with his family and wife.

“I accept it was an emotive response to the circumstances you discovered,” Justice Tamara Jago said.

McCulloch was jailed on several assault charges, as well as charges of possessing cannabis and a firearm with ammunition.
