During a rare sitdown interview set to air on Thursday, former First Lady Melania Trump shared where she was when her husband was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, this summer and what was going through her mind.

During a portion of the interview with “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt shared on Wednesday, Melania Trump shared that she struggled to understand what was going on with her husband, former President Donald Trump, on July 13 when his Secret Service members jumped on him after shots rang out at his rally.

“I ran to the TV, and I rewind[ed] it, and I watched it,” Melania said.

She noted that her chief of staff had told her about the shooting and that her husband was OK.

“When I saw it … nobody really knew yet [what had happened],” she continued. “When you see him on the floor and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”

Then, the former first lady had to go through it again when she was in New York City on Sept. 15, and a gunman attempted to assassinate her husband while he golfed near their Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

“I saw it on the television,” she said, noting how she found out about the second attempt on her husband’s life. “And as soon as I saw it on television. I called again, and he was OK, because Secret Service were great.”

“The guys that [the former president’s golf group] were between, they were fantastic.”

The former first lady went on to call her husband’s survival of the attempts on his life “miracles.”

“If you really think about it, July 13 was a miracle. Like, that much, and he could, you know, he could not be with us,” she said.

During the interview, Melania Trump was also asked about the 2022 FBI raid on her Mar-a-Lago home, which was part of the government’s investigation into her husband’s withholding of classified documents.

“Yeah, it made me angry,” she said, calling it an “invasion of privacy.”

She added that she was “really surprised” with how the FBI conducted the raid.

“I saw unpleasant stuff that nobody wants to see,” she said. “And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff. Some person – I don’t even know who or how many people – they, you know, they went through my stuff.”

The full interview is expected to air on Thursday morning on “Fox & Friends.”
