Time to switch back to homemade as Nestlé USA announced last week that it was voluntarily recalling its ready-to-bake refrigerated Nestlé Toll House Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling products.
The company recalled the products with the help of the FDA, after it was discovered that there was a potential presence of white plastic pieces inside the cookies.
The recalled items were produced between June and September and were distributed in the continental U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Nestlé Toll House shared in a statement that no other items are affected by the recall.
"While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, we immediately took action out of an abundance of caution after a small number of consumers contacted Nestlé USA about this issue," the recall statement said.
Consumers who purchased an affected product should not consume the item but return it to where it was purchased for a refund or replacement, according to the company.
