ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The days of filling bubbles with a number two pencil appears over for students taking the SAT.

Beginning on March 9th, the SAT can be taken entirely online.

The test will still be monitored at schools, but it will be one hour shorter and test-takers will have 60 percent more time on each question.

Priscilla Rodriguez from the College Board, joined Total Information A.M. Thursday to discuss the SAT moving online, with other countries already moving their standardized tests to digital, and seeing positive outcomes for students.

"Students are walking out of the digital SAT room and telling us they feel less rushed during the tests and less exhausted after it, which makes them more confident they were able to do their best work," said Rodriguez.

Most importantly, Rodriguez highlights they want to help students feel less stressful when it comes to taking tests like the SAT.

"We want the tests to be less stressful for students," said Rodriguez. "If taking it on a laptop or a tablet is more natural, we want to make sure meet them where they are and reduce the stress with those scary bubble sheets."
