WWL-TV meteorologist Payton Malone shared terrifying footage on Twitter of a tornado that ripped across the Lower 9th Ward and Arabi areas of Orleans and St. Bernard Parish Tuesday night.
The massive twister was part of a larger storm system that passed over Texas one day prior.
The National Weather Service also shared a tweet showing video of the huge tornado.
The NWS had placed a large portion of southeastern Louisiana and southwestern Mississippi under a tornado warning prior to the footage being captured.
