A Texas mother is being praised for reporting her son to the police this week after he told her he had sexually assaulted one of their neighbors.
Gino Anthony Bonocini, 29, was arrested on Friday in San Antonio and then charged with sexual assault and burglary, ExpressNews reported.
The crime that Bonocini is charged with occurred in April, when he allegedly bork into his 68-year-old neighbor’s home and then sexually assaulted her, police reported.
The report from his mother to the police was enough to allow officials to receive permission from a judge to obtain a cheek swab, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said.
After obtaining the DNA from the cheek swab, it was compared to the evidence police found at the crime scene in April.
The results came back Friday as a match, at which point the police moved forward and arrested Bonocini.
