It has to be the rolls and butter! According to recent reports, Texas Roadhouse has become one of the most popular dining spots in the country.

The restaurant chain is currently experiencing its own renaissance, garnering praise across the board. Earlier this month, the review site Yelp named Texas Roadhouse the second most-loved restaurant brand in America.

Yelp shared its top 50 most loved brands of 2023, and while Trader Joe’s took the number one spot, Texas Roadhouse was the second restaurant named and sixth overall brand.

But the honor from Yelp isn’t the only recognition the steakhouse chain has received as of late. The American Customer Satisfaction Index has now indicated for two years in a row that Texas Roadhouse has the highest rating among full-service restaurants.

The research and consulting agency Technomic also recently released a report ranking 2022’s top 500 chain restaurants in the United States by sales, Restaurant Business Magazine reported.

The report shared that Texas Roadhouse was third among full-service restaurant chains, only losing out to the restaurant giants Olive Garden, in first place, and Applebee’s, in second.

The love restaurant-goers have for the moderately priced steaks, cinnamon butter rolls, and southern-themed restaurants didn’t stop in 2022. Throughout the first three months of 2023, Texas Roadhouse has seen record foot traffic, according to a report from EatThis.com.

Now, Kevin Schimpf, the director of industry research and insights for Technomic, says Texas Roadhouse may become the country’s biggest casual dining full-service restaurant, passing its competitors.

“Texas Roadhouse could become the largest full-service chain soon over Applebee’s and Olive Garden,” Schimpf told Restaurant Business Magazine. “They could pass those chains in the next few years.”

Schimpf noted that while the restaurant came in third last year, its sales grew at a higher percentage in 2022 than the first-place finisher, Olive Garden.

Technomic noted that Olive Garden’s sales grew 12%, to $4.7 billion, last year, while Texas Roadhouse saw its sales rise 13%, to $4.2 billion.

Schimpf and Technomic’s projections for the brand follow a report from Brand Finance, which was released last month, and said Texas Roadhouse was the fastest-growing restaurant brand in 2023.

Overall, Texas Roadhouse operates 652 restaurants across the U.S. and in other countries, with plans to expand to 900 locations.
