With prices rising rapidly over the last three years, Americans have been shelling out more and more to host holidays, especially Thanksgiving.
To help offset the rise in prices, several stores have shared they are giving away Thanksgiving turkeys this year.
The grocery chain BJ’s is rewarding those who frequent their stores, offering a free turkey to anyone who spent at least $150 in one transaction this month before Nov. 14. If you made a purchase that would qualify you for the turkey, you’ll receive a free turkey coupon in your BJ’s app or website account.
The turkey coupon must be redeemed by Nov. 27, and all turkeys are eligible as long as they are $25 or less.
The retailer Giant is offering a free turkey to any of its rewards members who have collected 400 rewards points. Points are eligible if they’ve been earned between Oct. 1 and Nov. 28. Every $1 spent earns one point.
The deal at Giant is for Shady Brook Farms turkeys that weigh up to 20 pounds. The deadline to redeem the offer is Nov. 28.
Hy-Vee is offering shoppers a special deal for both a turkey and a ham, offering a “buy a ham, get a turkey deal.”
Shoppers who buy a Hormel Cure 81 ham can receive a free Honeysuckle White frozen turkey up to 14 pounds. The deal runs through Nov. 30.
ShopRite rewards members who have spent at least $400 will also get a choice of a free Bowl & Basket turkey or Cook’s smoked ham.
The deal is available from Oct. 20 to Nov. 28.
While not every store is offering free items, they are still running deals. For example, Wegmans is offering families the option to buy a Thanksgiving dinner that will feed eight people for $6.
The dinner includes a 13-pound Shady Brook Farms Frozen Turkey, McCormick Brown Gravy Mix, Wegmans Stuffing Mix, and Wegmans Cranberry Sauce.
Aldi is running something similar, though its Thanksgiving dinner deal is $47 and will feed 10. It includes a Butterball turkey, spices, gravy, bread, mac and cheese, and stuffing. Also included are Aldi branded green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and pumpkin pie.
Walmart is running a deal that includes 29 products for $56.
