Despite calling on his supporters to “boycott baseball” back in April, former President Donald Trump says now that he will be in attendance for Game 4 of the World Series this weekend, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Trump originally called for the boycott after Major League Baseball pulled its All-Star Game from Truist Park in Atlanta, Ga., over the state’s changes to its election laws.
Incidentally, that’s the very park that will welcome Trump when the Atlanta Braves host the Houston Astros on Saturday.
When reached for comment on the former Commander-in-Chief’s request for tickets, Braves chief executive Terry McGuirk told USA Today, “We’re apolitical. We’re open to anyone coming. It’s great that he wants to come to our game.”
The best-of-seven World Series is currently tied at one game apiece after two games hosted by the Astros. The series now shifts to Atlanta for Games 3, 4 and 5.
