Former President Donald Trump shared a love message for his wife, former First Lady Melanie Trump, on Wednesday, thanking her for supporting him through his various criminal cases.

The message was sent in a campaign email on Wednesday morning, in which Trump offered a “letter” with the subject line “I love you, Melania!”

“Dear Melania, I LOVE YOU. Even after every single INDICTMENT, ARREST, and WITCH HUNT, you never left my side,” he wrote in the message. “You’ve always supported me through everything. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without your guidance, kindness, and warmth.”

The email directed readers to a website where they could leave their own Valentine’s Day message or donate to his 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump’s message to his wife comes as he faces 91 felony counts across four federal and state indictments.

While the former president was offering his love to his wife, his political opponents claimed that he actually loved someone else.

“Roses are red, violets are blue, I love dictators, and they love me too! Happy Valentine’s Day from Donald Trump to dictators around the world!” Trump’s GOP nominee competitor, Nikki Haley, sent in a campaign email.

In the email, Haley called out Trump for his previous work on foreign affairs, saying, “Over the years, Trump has professed his love for the world’s most brutal dictators and praised their strength and leadership skills.”

One example of this was Trump’s relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, whom Trump claimed he received letters from in 2019.

“He wrote me beautiful letters, and they’re great letters,” Trump said at a 2019 rally in West Virginia. “We fell in love.”

The comments from Haley also come just days after Trump made some eyebrow-raising remarks about Russia and its involvement with NATO.

“One of the presidents of a big country stood up, said, ‘Well, sir, if we don’t pay and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?’” Trump said at a rally in South Carolina on Saturday. “I said, ‘You didn’t pay, you’re delinquent. He said, ‘Yes, let’s say that happened.’ No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want.”
