
Wikipedia was experiencing issues on Monday morning as some of its web pages were displaying a swastika. Some on social media said the information encyclopedia was most likely hacked.

When trying to access the website, for several pages belonging to actors, TV shows, and politicians, users only saw the red screen and the swastika was present. Actors whose pages were affected included Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
Some people on Twitter shared that the list of those affected also included German philosopher Theodor Adorno, singer Madonna, and Joseph Stalin were also hacked.
The problem was only seen for a short period of time, around 10 a.m. ET, before returning to normal.
This has followed the trend of antisemitism continuing to rise over the last decade. Last year there were more than 3,000 anti-Semitic incidents, the third-highest year on record since 1979, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
Wikipedia has not yet released a statement on the incident.
