Already a summertime road trip staple for many Americans across the south, a Texas convenience store chain has once again outdone itself.

Buc-ee’s opened its latest location in Luling, Texas, this week and rewrote its own record for square footage.

The new store, located about 50 miles south of Austin, is being touted as “the world’s largest convenience store” and features 120 gas pumps and 75,000 square feet of retail space.

The Luling location takes the title from the Buc-ee’s in Sevierville, Texas, which offers a paltry 74,000 square feet of snacks and other road trip goodies.

Convenience stores generally average about 2,500 square feet, according to the National Association of Conveneince Stores, making this Buc-ee’s nearly 30 times bigger than your usual roadside stop.

The Luling store is the 50th Buc-ee’s location in the U.S. The first Louisiana Buc-ee’s is scheduled to open in Ruston next year.
