ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Nov. 5 is a little less than two weeks away, but already many people have decided to head to polling locations early and vote absentee.
Tuesday marked the first day for no-excuse absentee voting begins in Missouri, with voters in St. Louis City can head to eight locations to vote early, while voters in St. Louis County can head to 14 different locations. Voters in St. Charles County can head to two locations.
Across the county, many voters have early, with many swing states such as Georgia and North Carolina, seeing early turnout records, according to The Associated Press.
KMOX Political Analysts John Hancock and Michael Kelley, hosts of "Hancock and Kelley" joined "Total Information A.M." to discuss the recent surge of voters across the country doing early voting instead of waiting until election day to cast their votes.
"I think you are going to see early voting become increasingly popular," said Hancock on Total Information A.M. Friday. "Though it's no longer a way to avoid the lines cause there are lines everywhere."
Kelley believes that many Americans already know who they plan to vote for already.
Kelley says from his experience of going to the polls on Tuesday to vote early, the lines wasn't quite long, but the ballot was.
"You are making the effort to go vote, you should vote on everything that's on the ballot," said Kelley. "Just don't go in there, vote on the president and walk out. There are important things to be decided."
