ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - On Thursday, the Supreme Court heard arguments in Trump ballot case regarding Colorado's controversial decision to remove Trump off the ballot.
The Supreme Court signaled Thursday it is poised to back former President Donald Trump and fend off a blockbuster challenge to his eligibility to appear on the state’s ballot, with conservative and liberal judges both appearing to be skeptical with Colorado's arguments.
Michael Kelley and John Hancock aren't surprised by the appeared outcome.
"I think me and John have both saying for the past couple months the Courts would probably have reacted the way they did," said Michael Kelley on Total Information A.M. Friday. "Liberal justice (Elena) Kagan was leading the skeptical arguments right out the gate against what the voters in Colorado are trying to say. I think they will handily defeat it and null and void all the other states."
Hancock agrees with Kelley and suspect the final tally to like be a unanimous or 8-1 vote on the decision, but there could be a few concurrent opinions.
"I think the court is going to coalesce a very narrow reading of the (Insurrection Clause) and how it applies to this particular set of facts," said Hancock.
Kelley believes the only way people can make sure Donald Trump isn't president again is to vote against him in the election.
"If people are disappointed Trump is going to be on the ballot, the only way they are going to defeat him is in the ballot box." said Kelley.
Alongside the discussion of the Supreme Court hearing Colorado's argument with Trump on the ballot, they also discussed Tucker Carlson's interview with Russia President Vladimir Putin. Hancock and Kelley join Total Information A.M. every Friday right before their show 'Hancock and Kelley' to discuss the top political stories of the week.
