(KMOX) - Former U.S. President Barack Obama has endorsed Nicole Galloway for governor of Missouri.
He posted a list on Twitter of dozens of Democratic candidates running for office this November. The current Missouri State Auditor was included on that list, as well as well as Jill Schupp of Missouri, who's running for U.S. Congress.
"I’m proud to endorse these outstanding Democratic candidates who will work to get the virus under control, rebuild the economy and the middle class, and protect Americans’ health care and preexisting conditions protections. Support these candidates––and vote early if you can," Obama's tweet stated.
Auditor Galloway is one of only three gubernatorial candidates across the country to receive Obama's endorsement this year.
She thanked the 44th President, saying he "knows the stakes of this election couldn't be higher, at every level of the ticket. I'm proud to have earned his endorsement."
This follows the endorsement from 2020 presidential candidate and Obama's former VP, Joe Biden.
Galloway will face incumbent Gov. Mike Parson in the Nov. 3 election.
