Jack Buck and Rush Limbaugh

“Jack Buck is a walking icon.”

On Sunday, October 29th 1995, Jack Buck was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. At that ceremony was Rush Limbaugh.

The next day, on his nationally syndicated show on the EIB Network, Rush spoke from the heart about a living legend and industry giant.

On January 12th, 2021, Rush turns 70 years old. His connections to KMOX Radio and St. Louis originate from his listening time growing up in Cape Girardeau. On many occasions he would talk about a man he idolized - Jack Buck.

“He’s a man I grew up with in a way. He was St. Louis Cardinals play-by-play announcer with Harry Caray and I grew up listening to him on KMOX," said Rush. "Throughout my radio career, KMOX was always the radio station I wanted to work at.”

I wanted to take a moment to wish Rush a happy birthday and much love while he continues to battle lung cancer.
