ST. LOUIS, (KMOX) - While Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright's pitching career with the Cardinals has come to an end, there will still be plenty of weekend activities the team will have to honor Wainwright.

Among the events that will happen on the weekend of Sept. 29-Oct. 1 during the team's season-ending series against rival Cincinnati Reds include giveaways honoring Wainwright and a concert by Wainwright himself.

Throughout the weekend, Cardinals will give out giveaways to honor Wainwright which include a 'Waino Era' T-shirt on Friday, Sept. 29 and a Adam Wainwright Guitar on Oct. 1.

A special theme ticket will be required to acquire the 'Waino Era' T-Shirt on Friday while the first 25,000 fans ages 16 and older will get the guitar on Sunday, Oct. 1st.

On Saturday Sept. 30, Wainwright will perform a concert postgame, which will have Wainwright debut and perform three songs from his upcoming debut album.

The performance will then be followed by a fireworks show that will be played through a soundtrack that Wainwright chose, Cardinals Director of Sales and Promotions Megan Eberhart told 'The Show' Tuesday.

Finally, alongside the guitar giveaway on Oct. 1 will also be a pregame ceremony set to honor Wainwright that is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m., about 40 minutes before first-pitch of the team's last game of the 2023 MLB season. Fans are asked and encouraged to be in their seats by 1:15 p.m. for the ceremony.

While no doubt it has a very disappointing final season for the just-turned 42-year-old career Cardinal pitcher, Wainwright achieved win no. 200 on Sept. 18 pitching seven solid innings and only allowing no runs against the NL Central rival Milwaukee Brewers in what turned out to be his final start for the Cardinals and his baseball career.
