ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Michael Kelley, the co-host of 'Hancock & Kelly' is baffled by Missouri gun laws.
The biggest topic of the week has been the mass shooting in Kansas City, Missouri Wednesday following the Chiefs Super Bowl Celebration, which injured 22, nine of them being children, and costing the life of Lisa, Lopez-Galvin, a local radio D.J. in Kansas City.
Missouri U.S. Rep. Cori Bush was one of the most vocal politicians in the state on the shootings, blaming the 'NRA-Funded GOP' for why the state of Missouri has what she claims is 'some of the weakest gun safety laws in the US'. Bush Thursday took aim at Republicans from her state who "continue to eviscerate and obstruct gun safety laws" on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives and saying the state's gun laws need to change.
Kelley, who has butted heads with Bush on previous issues, joined KMOX's Total Information A.M. to discuss the shootings and agrees with Bush that Missouri guns laws need to change.
"We both live in the state of Missouri, who are obsessed with guns to the nth degree," said Kelley on Total Information A.M. "I may have argue to you this may have wound being the most American Super Bowl ever. It had everything from middle America against one of the coasts, the most money wagered ever, most viewership ever and to cap it all off in the most American way: a mass shooting. What is going on in this county?"
