A hospital in Kansas City celebrated the Tokyo Olympics in the most adorable way possible.
Staff at Saint Luke’s Health System presented all of its newborn babies with tiny, hand-crocheted Olympian outfits and gold medals. They even celebrated the opening ceremony by passing a tiny plastic torch around the babies in their care!
Nurse Stephanie Peterson hand-made about 20 gold medals for the infants in order to celebrate "how amazing they are for coming into this world," according to Good News Network. "Delivering during COVID is hard, and it’s nice to be celebrated. Everybody wants to win a gold medal," she said.
The newborns' parents were invited to cheer on their athlete in the special ceremony and photoshoot, and yes, they got to take the outfits home with them to keep!
