SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KMOX) - Police are investigating a series of attacks by groups of up to 15 people that have taken place recently in downtown Springfield.
There's video of the latest attack that was given to KY3 News, which happened early Tuesday morning. It shows a man being knocked down in a parking garage and then six or seven people punching and kicking him several times.
Less than 24 hours earlier, a similar attack took place against a homeless man around 3:30 a.m. Monday, KY3 reports. There have been three attacks like this reported within a month.
The first assault happened on July 7 to a couple that was walking home. The couple said they were attacked by a group of men that was following them.
The Springfield Police Department has launched an investigation, but hasn't yet determined if the attacks are related.
