Snow is on the way in a storm that could disrupt or even shut down holiday travel in some states.
AccuWeather is predicting two-thirds of the nation's flights are likely to be impacted by the major storm on Thursday and Friday. "Several major hubs, including Chicago, Detroit and New York City, are all in the path of the storm and face significant disruptions. Ripple-effect delays from affected aircraft and crews will be felt across the nation," reports AccuWeather.

Cold air will sweep through from Thursday to Friday. That may lead to blizzard conditions in Midwest states including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri.
The worst impacts of the system could include snow, high winds and a rapid freeze-up. Travel is likely to be a challenge in St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Milwaukee according to forecasters.
