STL Sports Commission wants a share of Rams settlement funds 'it's getting hard to compete' against other cities

Michael Loynd is the volunteer chair of the St. Louis Sports Commission and the executive director of the Interco Charitable Trust. The Commission is requesting money from the Rams settlement funds to better fund sporting event recruitment efforts. He joins Megan Lynch. The group would like a $5-million portion of the Rams settlement, calling it a 'bid fund' which would allow them to spend money to bid on large sports events. Taxes would repay that bid fund over time. He says 'every other sports commission in the country' has something similar. He points out that the St Louis Sports Commission is the only group that doesn't have support from the city. Indianapolis receives $3.5 million a year for their sports group.
