Wichita Police has identified 80-year-old James Kaminsky of Wichita as the victim of a fatal hit and run accident Tuesday.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to an injury accident in the 1600 block of North Parkridge Street. Upon arrival, officers located Kaminsky in the roadway with critical injuries. EMS transported him to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation revealed that Kaminsky was crossing the road to his residence and was struck by a white pick-up truck traveling south on North Parkridge. The driver did not stop and fled from the scene.
A person of interest has been identified in the accident, and the investigation is ongoing. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the incident.
