Coronavirus statistics for Kansas and Sedgwick County

State and local health officials provide daily updates on COVID-19 cases reported across Kansas. You may be interested in a few statistics that provide even more information. 

As of last Friday, nearly half of the state's positive cases, and 70% of the deaths, have come from clusters of COVID-19; a cluster is defined as "two or more non-household COVID-19 cases identified in a certain timeframe and place." More than three dozen of those clusters have occurred in private businesses, 15 of which are now closed. 


23% of Kansas COVID-19 cases have come from meatpacking plants. 56% of Kansas COVID-19 deaths have come in long-term care facilities. 2.3% of all Kansas residents have been tested. 7.3% of the state's positive cases have been recorded in Sedgwick County and its surrounding counties. COVID-19 hospitalizations in Sedgwick County peaked more than six weeks ago.
