A Derby Police officer once hailed as a hero is now a victim of Covid-19. He passed away just six days after his wife who also died from the virus. Larry Hampton was the officer who caught the man who shot Julie Dombo at a Derby cell phone store back in 2015. She lost both legs and both hands to the injury. She and Hampton developed a relationship after that day.Hampton spent decades with the Derby Police before retiring in 2017.
