Wichita police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 61-year-old man was killed.
Shortly after noon Friday, officers responded to an injury accident at 13th and McLean in the northwest part of Wichita. Upon arrival, officers located the man with critical injuries; he was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The investigation revealed the man was operating a motorcycle south-bound on McLean, crossed 13th Street, and then lost control, causing him to cross the center-line. The motorcycle slid into a truck traveling north-bound on McLean, causing the man's fatal injuries.
Speed involving the motorcycle operator is believed to be a factor. The WPD Critical Accident Team (CAT) responded to assist with the investigation.
