New tennis and pickleball courts are coming to the Tennis Center in south Riverside Park. The Wichita City Council approved $1.5 million to construct 3 new tennis courts and 6 new pickleball courts, along with resurfacing and lighting improvements. The goal is to host larger tournaments and bring in additional revenue and visitors.

The council also approved $1.2 million to start renovating the power supply equipment at Cheney Lake that controls ozone generation. This process removes unpleasant taste and odor from the city's water supply.  $1.27 million was approved for the project on 17th Street North, between I-135 and Broadway. The agreement will help pay for railroad crossing improvements and for the final designs of the plaza area at McAdams Park.
