A 28-year-old man accidently shot himself Saturday inside Wichita's Towne East Mall.
It happened around 4:50 p.m. Saturday. Wichita Police say the victim was carrying a handgun inside his waistband. The gun accidentally fired, striking him in the leg.
Two nearby off-duty nurses and arriving officers provided medical treatment before the man was transported to an area hospital. At last check, the man is still in serious condition.
No one else was hurt.
