32-year-old Rahim Omar was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in S. Wichita.
Omar was wounded, and a friend dropped him off at a Quik Trip south on S. Hydraulic, south of Pawnee; Omar was hospitalized, but later died.
Investigators say Omar had been at the home of his 24-year-old girlfriend, just a few blocks away, in the 2800 block of S. Ida. Police believe there was a disturbance, during which Omar charged towards the woman, and broke a window on the front of her house.
Investigators believe Omar threatened his girlfriend, and that she retrieved a gun and fired a shot, striking him.
There has been a history of domestic violence involving this couple for about the past month.
