
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has taken the lead on looking into an officer-involved shooting on the Kansas Turnpike.
It happened Thursday afternoon about nine miles north of Matfield Green in Chase County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says troopers were involved in a chase on the turnpike around 1:25 p.m. Troopers used tire deflation devices to stop the vehicle near mile marker 107, and then got into a confrontation with an armed suspect. The man was shot.
According to the KBI, no officers were injured. That person was transported to a Wichita hospital. His condition was not released.
