The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has taken the lead on looking into an officer-involved shooting on the Kansas Turnpike.

It happened Thursday afternoon about nine miles north of Matfield Green in Chase County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says troopers were involved in a chase on the turnpike around 1:25 p.m.  Troopers used tire deflation devices to stop the vehicle near mile marker 107, and then got into a confrontation with an armed suspect.   The man was shot.

According to the KBI, no officers were injured.  That person was transported to a Wichita hospital.  His condition was not released.

Additional information was not immediately available.
