The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has identified Steven Evans. 33, of Wichita as the victim of a fatal accident Saturday morning. At approximately 2:45 a.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle injury accident in the 9600 block of West 37th Street.
The officers located Evans, who was unresponsive, and a woman, 29, who had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel arrived on scene and attempted life-saving measures on Evans, but were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported by EMS to a local hospital.
The investigation revealed that their blue Nissan Altima was westbound on 37th Street when the driver lost control and struck multiple trees in the median. The accident remains under investigation.
