Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced on Friday, $14.8 million in Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) for Kansas from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, including $2,450,744 in funding for Wichita. This funding is intended to provide emergency shelter and essential services to families and individuals who have been affected by COVID-19.   "Homeless families and individuals are at a higher risk for transmission of COVID-19," said Rep. Estes. "These grants will provide Kansas with resources to prevent further spread and respond to this health crisis within one of our most vulnerable communities."

Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, which allocated $2.96 billion in funding for COVID-19-related ESG grants.
