At Tuesday's Wichita City Council meeting, Sedgwick County Health Director Adrienne Byrne gave a special presentation on the coronavirus.
Byrne said there's a low risk of contracting the disease in Wichita and Sedgwick County but at some point she says, it will arrive.
"It is not in Kansas yet, it's not in Sedgwick County. And I say 'yet' because it is coming. Since it's community spread, we know that it is coming," she said.
Byrne provided a full list of recommendations provided by the Sedgwick County Health Department: 1. Wash your hands often with soap and water - use hand sanitizer if soap isn't available2. Avoid close contact with people who are sick3. Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth5. Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs6. Stay home when you are sick
